Goal of the Session

To help students understand how ants find food and work together, and to use these simple science ideas to inspire teamwork, smart decision-making, patience, and the belief that small steps can lead to big achievements in their own lives.

Content Overview

  • Small Actions, Big Results

How tiny ants work step by step to reach food—showing that progress      happens through small, consistent efforts.

  • Teamwork Makes the Path Easier

Ants coordinate, follow trails, and support each other—reminding students that working together makes challenges easier to handle.

  • Smart Problem-Solving in Any Situation
Whether finding food directly or exploring the area first, ants adapt—teaching flexibility and creative thinking in difficult situations.

  • Communication Builds Strength

Ants share information through signals and paths—highlighting how expressing oneself and seeking help can lead to better decisions.

  • Carry What Matters & Keep Moving Forward
Ants take food back to their colony and divide work—encouraging students to focus on what’s important, stay responsible, and keep moving toward their goals.

Expected Takeaways

  • Understanding How Small Actions Create Big Results

Discussion Prompts for Children

  • If you discovered something helpful (like an opportunity, skill, or good habit), how would you guide others just like ants leave a trail?
  • Imagine you are the scout ant. What is one new positive thing you want to explore this week—like a new hobby, a good habit, or a goal?
  • Ants work together. Can you share a time when teamwork helped you? How can teamwork help you now?
  • Ants don’t stop when something blocks their way. Think of a challenge you faced—how could you take a different path like an ant?
  • Ants lift things heavier than themselves. What is one heavy thing (emotion, responsibility, worry) you wish someone could help you carry?
