Overall Goal of Session: The life and work of Baba Amte is extraordinary. His simplicity, compassion and courage are beyond imagination. Throwing some light on his life and work can help encourage kids to help others and show kindness during tough times. It also gives them a different perspective of life different from their intense environment. 

Expected Takeaways: Inspiration from Baba Amte’s life. Exposure to a different world, especially to deep compassion, sacrifice and service. A sense of helping others without fear to make their lives better. Work to make the world a nicer place, leaving peace behind you.

Any Observations: While watching the videos, they seemed more focused on the content than on the spoken words. After seeing the prayer on the last slide, they stayed quiet for a few moments, thinking carefully. They were clearly affected by the suffering of the leprosy patients shown in the video.

Any Other Notes: The PowerPoint presentation could be more creative to better grab the boys’ attention. Adding doodles and more pictures about the person’s life would help.
