The purpose of Seedling Foundation is to sow seeds of transformation in the lives of anyone that it touches, staying true to the tagline! Currently, our work is mainly focused at the Dongri Children’s Home in Mumbai, with Children in Conflict with Law (CCL). Their age varies from about 14 years to 22 years, majority falling between 16 to 19 years. Some of them are above 18 since their term is still ongoing but their offence took place when they were under 18 years. Our aim is to create a fertile ground for these children at risk, where inner purification can take place. The effort is to enhance the lives of children by providing opportunities for personal growth through everyday activities and programs. We hope to transform the atmosphere of the home to one that fosters learning, growth, and peace, thereby not just impacting the lives of the children, but also the staff that works at the Children’s Home. While we do not address legal aspects or policy issues related to the children, we focus on providing positive interventions to help them develop values and experiences that can transform their lives.
Our founder, Karan, spent three months working at the Dongri Children’s Home with another NGO and recognized the challenges faced by the existing organizations. He then volunteered independently for over a year and saw immense potential to help improve the quality of life of the children and to sow seeds of transformation in them. Seedling Foundation was born on 1st November, 2023, out of this desire to make a difference.
Our approach involves all-rounded interventions in key areas such as:
We believe that by working on these areas with the right intention and a motivated team, we can positively impact the lives of many children. Our ultimate aim is to create a peaceful and happier home environment that will empower the children to become better individuals, reintegrate into society, and contribute to making society a more harmonious place.
Join us in our journey to make a difference in the lives of these children and create a brighter future for them.

Project Lead | Art Based Therapist
Sheetal is counselor by education and an artist at heart and she combines these two at Seedling Foundation.
Sheetal's deep desire to understand Human Nature, from a young age, led her to do a Masters in Counseling Psychology and various courses such as Emotional Freedom Technique, Handwriting Analysis, Reiki, etc. Being a creative person, she did a course in ‘Arts Based Therapy (ABT)’ from Pune’s ‘World Centre of Creative Learning Foundation (WCCLF)’ in 2014. Since then, she has been passionately working with Children at Risk groups of various backgrounds.
For Sheetal, Nature has been her biggest life teacher. She enjoys trekking and being outdoors, along with traveling, reading, listening to music, doing abstract paintings and more! Her creative side makes her feel alive and inspires new ideas.
Later in life, she had an inner calling of understanding herself better and she dived into Buddhist Philosophy, which eventually led her to doing a 10 Day Vipassana Meditation course which was a transformative experience.Meditation is now a significant practice for her and helps her stay grounded while walking on the path of service. In Sheetal’s words, “I am grateful to all the stakeholders who allow me to serve them through my expertise and make my life meaningful.”Presentation Designer
